Two women and boy (7) killed in horror crash
Gardai are investigating a crash this afternoon that has claimed the life of two women and a seven-year-old boy in Mayo.
According to gardai the fatal collision involving a car and a truck took place on the N17 Galway to Sligo Road at Lisduff at approximately 12:30pm today.
The occupants of the car, two women, aged in their 70s and 40s, and a boy (7), were been pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck driver was uninjured.
Traffic diversions are in place and forensic collision investigators are at scene.
Southbound traffic is diverted to Ballyhaunis and motorists are asked to avoid the Claremorris Ballinrobe Junction.

This is the second multi-fatality crash on Irish roads today.
A m an and a woman aged in their 60s were pronounced dead at the scene of a three vehicle collision on the N20 Cork to Mallow Road at the Waterloo Junction at approximately 11am.
The deceased were passengers in a car which was involved in a collision with a truck.
The driver of the car and the third passenger, also a male and female in their 60s, were taken to Cork University Hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.
The driver of the second car involved was taken to Cork University Hospital with injuries described as non-life threatening.
