Tributes paid to Danny Barnes after horror crash at school railings in Wexford
Tributes have been paid to a young dad who died when the car he was driving smashed into the railings of a primary school.
Tragic Danny Barnes, aged 25, was pronounced dead at the scene at Kennedy Park National School in Wexford town at around 12.30am.
His body has been taken to Wexford Hospital.
There were two other male passengers in the vehicle, which is said to have lost control before colliding with a barrier.
They have been taken to Wexford Hospital with serious injuries.
It is believed the vehicle was being pursued by gardai at the time and The Garda SÃochÃ¡na Ombudsman Commission are investigating.
Danny Barnes, from the Liam Mellows area of Wexford town, was employed as a scaffolder and his older brother Nicky also died in tragic circumstances bac k in 2011.
Local Sinn Fein Cllr Tom Forde said: âHeâs a popular young fella from a popular family.
"Theyâre all well-liked and well-respected in the local community.
"So itâs terrible news and very sad news to hear this morning.
"Thoughts are with the family waking up to that news, itâs awful.
"I would have known a couple of the brothers and they were lovely guys you know and very active, very involved in the community.
"Their father Sean would be a well known boxing coach in Wexford town.â
