Munster paedophile ring: Gardai in Limerick, Clare and Cork release 11 people without charge
Gardai have released 11 people who had been quizzed over a sickening child sex abuse ring in Munster.
The six women and five men were arrested on Monday at various locations and had been questioned over the alleged widespread sexual abuse of children in Limerick.
It emerged on Tuesday that officers had identified 13 alleged victims in the Newcastle West area.
But The Mirror has learned dozens more may be caught up in it.
Gardai said in a statement this morning: "Eleven people arrested by Gardaà as part of an investigation into alleged sexual exploitation of children have been released without charge.
"Files will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. The investigation is ongoing."
Those arrested on Monday ranged in age from their 20s to their 70s.
One security source told The Mirror on Tuesday: âItâs
absolutely horrendous. Youâd get sick reading it.
âNo one involved [in the investigation] has come across this level before.â
Itâs understood the claims first surfaced in August last year.
One of those arrested is a sports referee in the Munster region.Source: Google News
