Irish weather: Temperatures to hit a sizzling 20C on Saturday but rain is expected on Sunday
Ireland is set to heat up today with sizzling temperatures to stick around for most of the weekend.
Temperatures today will settle at around 16C, but are expected to rise to a blistering 20C tomorrow.
Rainy conditions will return on Sunday but temperatures will still be quite mild.
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Mainly dry today but a cloudier start, with a risk of patchy drizzle in the northwest and west.
"Better sunny spells will develop as the day goes on.
"Highest temperatures 14 to 16 degrees in the west and up to 19 degrees elsewhere in light southwest or variable breezes.
"Tomorrow will be dry and sunny with temperatures ranging between 16 degrees in the south to up to 20 degrees inland and further north.
"There's a risk of patches of sea fog keeping things very cool at the coasts of the east and south at times.
"Winds will be light southerly but increasing moderate to fresh south to southwest later.
"Cloud will thicken from the west on Saturday evening with rain developing there on Saturday night.
Then outbreaks of rain will affect much of the western half of the country by morning.
"Sunday will be generally rather dull and damp with patchy outbreaks of rain.
Temperatures will range between 14 and 16 degrees with light to moderate southerly winds.
