It'll be a cold and windy day but it looks like the weather is about to change
There are no weather warnings currently in place and this time it's good news, rather than bad.
Met Eireann have said that it'll be a cold, bright day with gusty west to southwest winds. Scattered showers are expected and will continue throughout the day.
The highest temperatures are from 5 to 7 degrees.
Showers will become more isolated this evening and tonight. Temperatures will fall to around freezing and there will be a widespread frost. Moderate west to southwest winds.
Despite the cold, as you can very well feel this morning, temperatures are set to rise over the weekend.
Met Eireann has confirmed that temperatures will be as high as 12C - which is a lovely change from the low to minus temperatures we have experienced in recent weeks.
A Met Eireann forecaster said:
"Today will be a cold, bright day with gusty west to southwest winds.
"Although there will be long spells of dry weather with good sunshine, scattered heavy showers will continue to occur throughout the day.
"Most of these showers will fall as rain or hail but some will be more wintry over the higher ground. Highest temperatures of 4 to 7 degrees.''
"This evening and tonight will be mostly dry and clear with temperatures falling to around freezing and with a widespread frost developing.
"Friday morning will be mainly dry and bright with the frost clearing quickly in the sunshine. Cloud will increase in the early afternoon with rain to follow later in the day. Highs of 8 or 9 degrees in moderate southwest winds."
There will unfortunately be light showers on Saturday, but that shouldn't stop you from going out.
Sunday is looking to be dry too with some patchy mist and light rain at times. Highs of 10 to 12 degrees.
Monday will be mostly dry and mild with highs of 10 to 12 degrees.Source: Google News
