LIVE updates: Man dead as car smashes into railings at primary school in Wexford town as gardai launch investigation
A man has died and two others are seriously injured after a car smashed into the railings of a primary school.
The incident happened at Kennedy Park National School in Wexford town at around 12.30am.
The driver of the car, a man aged in his 20s, died at the scene. His body has been taken to Wexford Hospital.
Gardai say he lost control of the vehicle which collided with a barrier.
Two male passengers were also taken to Wexford Hospital, with their injuries described as serious.
The Whitemill Road has been closed while Gardai carry out an examination of the scene.
Local diversions are in place.
It's believed the vehicle was being pursued by gardai at the time and the Garda SÃochÃ¡na Ombudsman Commission are investigating.

Gardai in Wexford are investigating a single vehicle fatal road traffic collision that occurred on Whitemill Road at approximately 12:30am this morning.
A male in his 20s was fatally injured when the car he was driving lost control and collided with a barrier. He was pronounced dead at the scene and his body taken to Wexford Hospital. Two male passengers were also taken to Wexfo rd Hospital with injuries described as serious.
This stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators and local diversions are in place.
