Update 3.30pm: Cork County Council has erected flood barriers in Mallow and Fermoy as a precaution during Met Éireann's status yellow rainfall warning.

Possible flooding of the Park Road in Mallow this evening may result in its closure for a period of time.

While some localised flooding may occur there is no expectation of flood risk to properties or businesses in these areas.

Motorists are asked to exercise extreme caution due to surface water on roads.

Cork County Council is continuing to monitor the situation.
