Dublin man jailed over harassment of RTÃ presenter
A 41-year-old man has been jailed for three years for the harassment of RTà newsreader and journalist, Sharon Nà Bheoláin.
Conor O'Hora from Heather Walk in Portmarnock in Dublin, pleaded guilty to the charge and to three counts of possessing pornographic material related to children.
The court heard O'Hora harassed Ms Nà Bheoláin between March 2013 and January 2014 by posting pictures on a website of her face superimposed onto pornographic images.
When gardaà searched his home and seized a computer and a mobile phone following a complaint by Ms Nà Bheoláin, they found material which led to the child pornography charges.
Judge Martin Nolan said the harassment of Ms Nà Bheoláin was insidious and the possession of child pornography was always serious.
He said it was an aggravating factor that the majority of images related to the young child of s omeone O'Hora knew.
These pictures had been taken from Facebook and doctored to turn them into extremely explicit images.
Judge Nolan said images of Ms Nà Bheoláin on the internet would be "out there forever" and may have been downloaded by other parties.
He said the appropriate sentence was four-and-a-half years but he suspended the final 18 months on condition that O'Hora be of good behaviour and undertake not to contact Ms Nà Bheoláin directly or indirectly.Source: Google News
