Two men held over 1990 murder of 'popular bookie'

Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a bookmaker more than 27 years ago.
Dessie Fox was shot dead on September 30, 1990, while on his way to a race meeting at the Curragh after his white Mercedes car was intercepted by armed and masked men. Mr Fox, 47, died on Healyâs Bridge in Prosperous, Co Kildare , after a bullet severed an artery in his leg. His attackers stole a briefcase containing Â£20,000, a mobile phone and car keys.
Yesterday gardaÃ arrested two men, aged 50 and 61, during an operation involving the Kildare division of the National Bureau of Criminal Investigation. The men were being held and questioned in separate garda stations in Kildare. Over the course of the investigationâ¦Source: Google News
