Valdez and Hennessy families meet to exchange sympathies
The remains of Jastine Valdez, who was murdered nine days ago, will be repatriated to her native Philippines tomorrow.
Her parents, Teresita and Danilo Valdez, will travel on the flight with the remains.
They will be accompanied by the Honourary Consul to the Phillipines Mark Christopher Congdon.
They will leave Dublin Airport and travel via Dubai to Manila tomorrow afternoon.
Mark Hennessy, 40, from Bray is suspected of kidnapping and strangling Ms Valdez in an apparently random attack in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow.
He was who was shot dead by gardaÃ in Cherrywood Business Park on 20 May.
The Valdez and Hennessy families met and exchanged sympathies for the first time last Friday.
Mark Hennessy was cremated following his funeral at the weekend.
Ms Valdez's body was di scovered in thick undergrowth in the Puck's Castle area of Co Dublin last Monday afternoon.
Two investigations are continuing into the deaths that followed the abduction and murder of Ms Valdez.
GardaÃ are investigating the murder of the 24-year-old student who came to Ireland from the Philippines to live with her parents, while GSOC is investigating the fatal shooting of the father-of-two.
Both families have been deeply traumatised by the incidents and last Friday morning they met for the first time.
In a statement issued on their behalf by gardaÃ last night, the families said:
"In the midst of our grief both the Valdez and Hennessy families met on Friday morning where we exchanged sympathies with each other on the tragic circumstances that resulted in the loss of our respective loved ones.
