WATCH: Huge lightning storm over south of Ireland has resulted in massive flight disruptions
We need our thunder buddy!
On Sunday morning, Met Eireann issued a weather warning for 19 counties across the country, but we've been seeing some of the effects since late last night.
The status yellow rainfall warning was issued at 3am on Sunday and will affect all of Munster as well Dublin, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Wexford, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Galway and Roscommon.
Met Ãireann have said to be wary of bands of heavy thunderstorms moving up from the Southeast giving torrential downpours locally in short periods leading to spot flooding, while there will also be a risk of hail.
JOE reader Shauna O'Donovan sent in some staggeringly scary footage that she filmed on Saturday night/Sunday morning, down near Ballincollig and Bishopstown in Cork.

The lightning storm did not just affect Ireland however, as Stansted Airport released a statement regarding the matter, with many who had come home to vote from London now facing severe delays to return:
"Due to an earlier lightning strike, the aircraft fuelling system was unavailable for a period this morning.
"Engineers have been on site and have now rest ored the system, however flights may still be subject to diversion, delay or cancellation.
"We apologise for the inconvenience and advise all passengers to check with their airlines for their latest flight updates."
